A Church Without Walls

Article Pic “NETWORKING CHRIST TO THE COMMUNITY AND THE WORLD”

Welcome to Amherst Christian Church Website

We are a growing community of believers living out our lives together in the love and service of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As you continue through our website we hope you will find areas of personal interest that will encourage you to consider Amherst Christian Church as a place for you and your family.

Our Vision

Our primary purpose is to see Christ formed in every individual. When nominal Christians grow in Christ, His character, purpose and passion becomes evident in them. Through an emphasis on making disciples and equipping them for the works of service God has prepared for them builds the body of Christ, (Ephesians 4).  Our vision to be a Church without walls is accomplished as we disciple individuals to the “Irreducible Core” which is to love God, and love our neighbors and make disciples.

Our Philosophy

  • The people of God are the church and individually members of His body.
  • Every Believer is a Minister of Christ and gifted for the work they are called to.
  • Although we can serve Christ individually, we are far more effective when partnered with other believers.
  • We belive that believes will produce the greatest amount of fruit in a ministry they are gifted for.

We belive that God has given every believer natural and spiritual gifts. When our gifts are combined and exercised in concert with other members of the church  accomplish their intended purpose.

We encourage members of the body of Christ discover and develop the gifts and talents God has given and to employ them their gifts in the congregation and community.

We can best accomplish this by becoming a participating member of  the spiritual community.

Our Method

  • Employing the equipping ministries listed in Ephesians 4:11-12
  • Discipleship groups consisting of 3-4 persons or couples
  • Small groups that meet on campus and in homes

The Ministry of the Saints: God has given every believer natural and spiritual gifts. These gifts, when combined and exercised in concert with the members of the church, serve to accomplish the work of the ministry. Every true believer should view themselves as ministers of Christ.
